The Dojo was first opened in November 2013, under the name Hokuto Dojo, training at Stokesley Methodist hall.
In August 2014 with the blessing of Oshita Sensei, the Dojo became Hokuto Genbukan, now training at Kirkby just south of Middlesbrough. In 2016 we were given the priviledge of hosting the "Jikiden Friendship seminar" in Middlesbrough. This saw Oshita Sensei and Morita Sensei coming to Middlesbrough along with students from all over Europe to train over 3 days.

After 3 hard days training at the 2016 Jikiden friendship seminar, Oshita Sensei and Morita Sensei enjoy a walk along Saltburn sea front (after a fish and chip supper). Phil along with Iaido friends from Germany, Italy, Finland and Switzerland make up a truly international group!
